The rifle has a matching receiver and bolt but small parts such as the barrel bands, buttplate and trigger housing are not, which was common with these rifles as they were converted to sniper configuration. In total, 5,300 m/41 snipers were built between 1941 and 1943. The rifles were never actually needed, and in 1955 Sweden decided to initiate a rebuilding program to bring them all up to the same standard. Virtually all of the AGA scopes were discarded, and AJACK scopes made universal. Here is a M96 Swede rifle that was converted to a sniper by the Swedish government around 1941.
